Conclusion

In doing the research for this project, I learned that while the styles of the artists I enjoy differ greatly, many of the concepts and tones are overreaching. Fairytale content, representations of marginalized peoples, and stunning artwork were present across the board. While some of the illustrators featured here are well known and recognized, many fly under the radar. Individual's tastes are not always in line with what sells the best commercially. However, commercial success does not always guarantee the quality of a product. I also learned how to better format a blog, and really took advantage of that in incorporating the art work of the illustrators into the various pages. Adding those correlating aesthetics throughout the blog lend it a more enjoyable tone. These blog-building skills, as well as the more intense focus on these specific illustrators, are skills and information that I will utilize not only in future employment, but have already begun to incorporate into other courses to better my work and assignments. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed building the website and playing with the aesthetics for each illustrator’s page, making the pages match their artistic styles. It was very tedious and time consuming work, but I found it soothing, and it felt very productive.
