The Omaha Public Library, like many public libraries, offers access to ABCmouse on library computers, frequently provided through designated early-learning computers and stations.
ABCmouse is an "early learning academy" geared towards ages 2-8. Wildly popular, it uses bright colors, interactive and fun games and activities, and rewards systems to encourage learning.

In my time working in libraries, ABCmouse and its early-learning stations have been one of the most perennially requested and enjoyed services.

The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library hosts a "Minecraft Monday" event for elementary aged children, where they play Minecraft on an X-box together.

Another wildly popular game, Minecraft is a video game in which participants use blocks to create structures and worlds. It is generally appropriate for ages 7 - 13.

In my experience working in libraries and bookstores, Minecraft merchandise (games, stuffed animals coloring books, etc.) could barely be kept on the shelves they were so popular. With the X-box being an expensive gaming system to own, library-hosted X-box events offer the opportunity for kids to play the game in its original iteration.
