  • Appropriate for and enjoyed by all ages, Steven Universe is a delightful cartoon that promotes inclusivity, love, and acceptance. Steven, who is "half gem on his mother's side" and the crystal gems (Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst) continuously save their small and quirky town of Beach City. This show has been recognized for excellent portrayals of LGBT+ characters, and for its musical numbers. This DVD is a collection of the earliest episodes.

  • Even as an adult, I love this show. In stressful times, it's very relaxing to put on something so carefree and whimsical, that always has a positive resolution in each episode, and leave it playing in the background. I also wish I had had cartoons like this when I was a kid, that portrayed such wonderful representation.

  • The Book of Life is also available to checkout at many libraies, including the New York Public Library!

  • Appropriate for ages 10 and up, Three friends, Manolo, Maria, and Joaquin navigate their lifelong friendships as powerful and mysterious deities wager on the outcome.

  • The Book of Life is notable for several reasons. Firstly, the visuals are absolutely stunning. The use of color, movement, and iridescence throughout the film are breathtaking. It also provides enchanting and positive representation of Mexican culture.
